DAKOTA PLAYERS

Dakota PlayersDakota Players provides rare and unique theater experiences for young people across the Midwest as they are dedicated to the idea that drama is an integral part of the human experience.

The Performance Based residency allows children the opportunity to perform with professional theater artists in a full-scale musical production. One-week residencies culminate in a musical production using up to 54 local children, with suitable parts designed for every age, skill and experience level. The production experience will include five days of intensive rehearsals in which the lines, staging, songs and dances will be learned. In addition to more challenging roles, older students serve as assistant directors and learn how to operate the sound and lighting equipment.  Two Dakota Players' actor/directors play major roles in each production.

The Workshop residency is designed to offer young people the opportunity to learn in a dynamic, fun and challenging way. During a one-week residency, multiple grades and age groups participate in theatre workshops that encourage creative thinking, working in groups, and communication skills. Two actor/directors from Dakota Players will guide the youth through invigorating sessions throughout
the week.
