DAKOTA CHAMBER ORCHESTRA
The South Dakota Symphony Chamber Orchestra is composed of 20 to 30 professional musicians
drawn from the South Dakota Symphony Orchestra. The ensemble introduces audiences across the
state to the live orchestral experience through an engaging mix of 18th to 21st-century repertoire,
conducted by Music Director Delta David Gier. Chamber orchestra concerts offer a greater degree of
intimacy than full orchestra presentations and are suitable for a smaller concert hall or a church
setting.
Technical requirements: Small stage (minimum of 20' x 30') and 25-30 straightback,
armless chairs, with one Manhasset-type music stand per chair, adequate overhead lighting,
room temperature at 68-80 degrees and ventilation. Performance space must be available two hours
before the performance.
Fee structure: Performance $5,000 to $15,000. SDAC support up to 50%.
