Oboist Carrie Vecchione and bassist Rolf Erdahl bring music to life for kids of all ages as “Pages of Music with Rolf and Carrie.” Music has the power to instantly grab a child’s attention. When they catch an enthusiasm for music, they become the performers and audiences of the future. In passing on traditions of the past, we help students be part of what is to come in the ongoing, wildly rollicking, and ever relevant history of classical music.
We demonstrate our instruments, introduce musical concepts and history, and share children’s literature about music to show kids the creative power and sheer joy that await them in the wild, wonderful, multifaceted world of music. Our series of original programs blends storytelling, performance, and children’s literature about music in a memorable, engaging, way.

Music is for Everyone - Intro to musical concepts and instruments, gr. K-3
Mozart, Boy Genius! - A peek into the magical world of Mozart for gr. 2-6
The Remarkable Music Machine - The amazing orchestra for gr. 3-6
The Spirit Sings! - African American roots to the music of America for gr. 5-adult
Music of the Mountains - Edvard Grieg, Musical Nationalism, and Peer Gynt for gr. 4-6
Science of Music - How sound works from instrument to ear for gr. 4-6
Carnival of the Animals - Life and music of Camille Saint-Saëns for gr. 4-6
We can custom-fit residencies to fit your needs for a wide variety of ages and programs. In whatever format you choose, we bring together music, art, literature, and history. We perform for all students in the school and assist band/orchestra directors in master classes, sectionals, and seminars on college auditions and a life in music. We are committed advocates of bringing music into the community, with extensive performing and teaching experience, including for senior audiences. As OboeBass! The Vecchione/Erdahl Duo, we are also award-winning recitalists.
