DAKOTA STRING QUARTET
The Dakota String Quartet, composed of the principal string players of the SDSO, and the Dakota
Wind Quintet regularly tour the state with programs designed to stimulate interest in and knowledge
of music, and assist with music education throughout the region. Opportunities include formal and
informal concerts; elementary school music education programs; middle school, high school and
college instrumental music education programs including masterclasses, clinics, sectionals, and sideby-
side rehearsals; music educator clinics; and retirement community visits.
Technical requirements:Performance space of 10' by 10', five straight-backed, armless chairs and
adequate lighting, room temperature between 68-80 degrees, and ventilation. Performance area
should be available two hours prior to performance.
Fee structure: $1,000 - $5,000. SDAC support up to 50%.
